READING COMPRHENSION TECHNIQUES

TAKE 3 STEPS…AND YOU ARE ALREADY THERE!!

1st STEP

LOOK AT

THE PICTURES
THE TITLE
THE FORMAT

YOU CAN “ACTIVE” IN YOUR HEAD EVERYTHING YOU ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THE TOPIC

SO YOU CAN PREDICT THE CONTENT OF THE TEXT

2nd STEP

READ AND SEARCH FOR

COGNATES

WORDS YOU ALREADY KNOW... (because you are such a good student)

VOCABULARY GIVEN WITH THE TEXT

IF YOU PUT TOGETHER THE WORDS, "LITTLE IDEAS" WILL START TO APPEAR IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES. WRITE THESE IDEAS DOWN.

3rd STEP

RECONSTRUCTION OF THE MESSAGE

NOW YOU ARE IN A POSSITION WHERE YOU CAN PUT TOGETHER ALL THE "LITTLE IDEAS" AND DO ABSTRACT, EN ESPAÑOL, REDACTANDO CON LÓGICA, HACIENDO QUE LAS IDEAS TENGAN SENTIDO.

FINALLY, YOU CAN TELL WHAT THE MAIN IDEA IS.
